“The First Truly Connected GPS”
is what Popular Science called the Dash Express today when announcing the winners of their Best of What’s New 07 awards. It is nice to be recognized as one of the “latest revolutionary technologies that will drive the next 20 years of innovation.” It is also a fun list to use in creating your own wish list (that Audi R8 would look great wrapped around my Dash).
As Popular Science points out, Dash is the GPS with the “radical new capability: a constant connection to the Internet.” It is the only GPS device that augments the traffic data everyone else uses with up-to-the-minute flow data from our network of fellow drivers braving the same roads and traffic conditions. Add in all of the real-time search features and there is a good reason–even with Black Friday around the corner–to wait until the first quarter to buy your next GPS. (I may have to wait a bit longer for that Audi however…)

I think you should incorporate an alarm clock function into the Dash. Instead of me setting my alarm for 6AM everyday I would set it for 1 hour before I have to leave and the Dash would know when I need to leave based on the traffic that morning. This would result in me maximizing my sleep and make the Dash a bigger part of my life.

the waiting is killing me. Can I be a tester? Please? I’m willing to pay for the position though admittedly not enough to cash flow a R8

One question I haven’t seen answered on here is how the device connects to the internet? Dash seems like an awesome idea, but it seems like it would only work in some area with universal free wi-fi or something.
