Dash Express on sale for $199!
Posted by Dave Zatz on October, 28 in Dash Express
It’s never too early to start that holiday shopping - whether gifting a friend, family member, or just wanting to reward yourself. While many Trafficgauge.com subscribers have enjoyed a low $199 price point, we’re happy to now offer this Dash Express promotional pricing to a broader audience via Amazon as their Deal of the Day - meaning today only. Retail runs $299.99, so this is sweet 99 bucks off list. Get ‘em while they’re hot!

this is outrageous. I bought my Dash less than 90 days ago and now the unit is available for $99 less!?
I hope Dash reaches out to those loyal users who jumped to buy their full price unit.

The coupon is still on the Blog, but when I click the link.. nothing! I’d like to buy at $199. Any idea why link is dead?

Marty, I feel the same way too. Maybe they need more people to run the subscription service in order to stay profitable? Anyways, I got it when it was 399, then later 299, now another 100 bucks price drop? I felt this is a bit too much for early adopters.

@AM: This was one of Amazon’s Gold Box deals, they are daily specials to highlight a particular item. They’re only good as long as the item is in stock or until the end of that particular day (hence, Deal of the Day.)
In general, I think this was Amazon’s deal, not indicative of a price drop in general, although this kind of talk (about how the early adopters are all burned up by price drops) remind me of the first iPhone price drop. Those of us who bought $600 dollar phones suddenly saw people buying them for half as much a few months later. If you must always buy the cutting/bleeding edge merchandise, I think you have to be cognizant of the fact that there’ll always be price drops on items, it’s just the nature of the technology market.

I just bought my dash unit a few days before for $299 and am not pleased. I made the mistake of ordering from the Dash website instead of Amazon or Crutchfield.
First, the unit took 10 days to arrive. I live in CA and assumed it would ship from CA. It shipped from VA and took a long time.
Now a $100 price decrease? Errr. I think that I will just watch Amazon every day until Christmas and see if they have another sale. If they do, I am returning my Dash and buying another one from Amazon.

Thanks Eleventeen. I’ll still buy one at $299. It’s a great unit. Thanks.

When I saw the Dash Express on Amazon for $199 I thought it was a no brainer and took out the credit card. 200$ is an easy price point for a GPS. I’m very happy with the device so far, and the ability to add features from this site is great.

I think I paid the $399 price and then after signing up for service I got an e-mail from Dash saying they were giving away service to new customers. What a slap in the face! If you want one, just wait and they will be giving them away.

I bought my dash less than 48 hours ago from Amazon for $299.00!!! Should I send it back and buy this one for $100.00 less?! Geez!

My Girlfriend bought me one from Amazon, at the $299 price. THANK GOD she hasn’t seen the price-drop or she would be furious! I love my DASH. I still can’t get TRAPSTER to work, but I love it!!

You think a few months ago is bad? I just bought mine, from Amazon.com, 4 days ago, for $241. I even pay $80/year for unlimited 2-day shipping. I am pissed.

Never mind- I thought this was a current topic. It’s from 4 months ago. I really don’t care any more.

DASH is a waste of money. The device is huge, bulky and it simply does not work! Mine is not working, the touchscreen is broken, and their customer support response is that “since they don’t make the hardware anymore (red-flag for possible customers), they cannot replace my unit”.

@Emaida: *Yours* doesn’t work; except for a power cable issue I fixed myself mine’s been working flawlessly for over a year now.
